Today the "festivities" continued. Thankfully Jarred let me sleep in a little to "rest up" for all the FUN the girls and I had planned for today, and Madeline & Chloe enjoyed a fun Saturday breakfast with Daddy. A win-win situation for everyone!
Our first stop was to Target (a beautiful beginning to any day in my book! LOL!) to get Madeline some new shoes. She has hit a growth spurt and well, I couldn't think of a better time to go shoe shopping than on a day o' fun with my girls!
Next was the BIG event... manicures & pedicures! I think I was more excited than they were! This was Chloe's first time to the salon so she wasn't too sure about it. Madeline on the other hand has been a couple of times before and she was tickled pink!!! She relished the whole bit and was beeming the entire time! The salon we went to had special child chairs for the girls and they thought they were the coolest thing EVER! Well, I think the pictures speak for themselves....
Carefully picking out colors... I honestly think they touched EVERY one!!!
All smiles and loving the "hot tub" for her feet!
She NEVER stopped smiling! Priceless!
I was REALLY impressed at how well she kept the conversation going. My baby girl is growing up SOOOO fast!
The hardest part for Chloe was holding still. I think they had to redo her nails about 5 times! She was so excited she just kept showing them off!
TA-DA!! Madeline kept calling her neon orange toes with black polk-a-dot toes "Cheetah", and naturally Chloe wanted to have an animal name too... so quick thinking Mama came up with "Flamingo" for her! Chloe chose the absolute brightest pink I've ever seen in my life! They thought my toes looked like apples! LOL!
And the fingers to match!
Chloe then insisted on going to Chick - la - lay (Chick Fil-a) and "paying" with the money she had brought (paper money from Monopoly) in her pink purse (what else would you expect??)! LOL! Thankfully I slid my card alongside so she couldn't see... she'll never know the difference.
And, you can't have a girly day that doesn't involve ice cream!
As if this wasn't enough fun for one day we headed home for the next "activity"! I had offered to help a friend decorate a birthday cake and I knew the girls would want to "help" so last night I baked some cupcakes and I whipped up an extra batch of icing for them and VOILA... they spent the rest of the afternoon decorating cupcakes!
Love the aprons!
Such concentration!
A few of the "masterpieces"! Beautiful!
I honestly couldn't think of anything else to squeeze in to the day of FUN and well, after playing in the backyard and some nice warm baths, this is what I found after cleaning up the kitchen....
PRICELESS!!!!
I think they look pretty pampered don't you???
Days like this make me realize how blessed I am to be a Mom! I know we wont always have days this extravagant, but I hope I always remember how important it is to spend intentional time with each of my children! I hope this is a day they always remember. Not for all the things we did, but the time we had together and the memories we made! I was literally brought to tears of joy today when at Chick-fila this afternoon and Chloe asked if she could pray! I LOVE it!!! I hope each of you has a day filled with blessings with your family tomorrow!
Happy Mother's Day!!!
