Oh my word!!! I'm having a hard time finding words to describe how excited I am about how things went this morning. Let me just start by saying I willingly, actually JOYFULLY, got up at 7AM to get our breakfast started! Unfortuntately Jarred wasn't here to witness this monumentous occasion of me getting up on my OWN on a Saturday because he's at a men's retreat this weekend with our church. However, I do have something super yummy to show for it!
You know the old saying, "A picture is worth a 1,000 words." Well, you all know that I'm a "foodie" and I could probably go on for HOURS about how excited I was about making these donuts so instead of boring you with all the details... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! (Goodness knows I took enough! LOL!)
Thanks to my granny's wonderful rolling pin I was able to get a nice smooth roll out!
Cutting out circles...
Starting to look like donuts! And look... I attracted two cute little sous chefs! LOL!
WOW! That's a LOT of donuts! (about 2 dozen)
While the donuts were rising, I whipped up some homemade icing! Mmmm!
And I had to make chocolate too! Um HELLO! It's my favortie!!! LOL!
Almost done! Just have to add the milk & sugar!
Dont' the look cute???? All puffy & chubby! LOL!
Waiting for the oil to get just right... not to hot, not too cold!
Let's get cookin'!!!
Flip!
Are you kidding me? That's a beautiful sight!
Let the decorating begin! And we invited some friends over to eat with us... food always tastes better when shared with friends!
Let's EAT!
Looks like perfection to me!
Golden brown, crispy on the outside, and soft and warm in the middle!
(Is your mouth watering yet??? LOL!)
Not too bad for a first attempt!
Watch out Krispy Kreme! Mama K's might just be your worst enemy! LOL! Lucky for them I'm not a morning person and I'm afraid the novelty of getting up early would quickly wear off! Maybe one day my dream of having a coffee shop/bakery will come true and I will definitely have these on my menu! If you like what you see, please come visit and I'll glady to make them for you! We always enjoy company! However, because you have to make the dough a day ahead, reservations are required! LOL!!!

Yum, yum, yummy, yum! I've made tons of things from Pioneer Woman's site, but never attempted her donuts. I will absolutely have to change that soon! Maybe when y'all come to visit, we'll have her donuts and her cinnamon rolls (which I'm dying to try) for breakfast!

Yum-o!! I think that donuts are one of my favorite foods! I dont think adults are suppose to admit that though. :) I am definately not brave enough to try all that and dont even have one of those fancy mixers, but they look fabulous! Way to go! (I still have childhood memories of going to my cousins house and her mom making donuts for breakfast...your kids will remember this!)
