Our group's first activity was petting the baby animals.... this place had EVERYTHING!!! I mean they had hedgehogs, baby bunnies, baby chicks, guinea pigs, kittens, dogs, you name it! This chick they are holding is only 4 days old!
Next up was horseback riding! Chloe was too involved in chasing the 31 cats and 16 dogs to want to do it, but Colby enjoyed it!!!
We took a quick break for lunch and then we were off for the hayride of our lives!!! We got to see a "beeffalo" (half cow/half buffalo) and all other kinds of sites, and then we went on a twisting, turning, fast and roller-coaster like "hay ride"... guess I shouldn't call it a hay ride since there was no hay! LOL! Thank goodness for that too... trust me I swallowed plenty of dirt, I can only imagine what flying straw feels like. This is the only picture I have of the "hayride".
Honestly I didn't even know I took one, I guess it was so bumpy my phone thought to take one by itself! LOL!
We ended the outing with feeding the animals. Chloe was a litte timid at first, but after watching the "big" kids a while she jumped right in! She was so proud!!
I'm not really a fan of petting zoos, so I focused on enjoying watching the kids experience getting up close and personal to so many animals... especially since they are bona fide members of the "Country Kids Club". LOL!!! Chloe took special interest in the Llamas, and man are they BOSSY! Especially "Princess Dolly Llama"! (gotta love the name)
Look at that smile!!! I can't even get my own kids to smile that big for the camera! LOL! Crazy! (Actually I think she was fussing at us for not feeding her fast enough, but nevertheless, this picture cracks me up every time I see it!)
And this is Colby and his SUPER sweet teacher! We have certainly been blessed to know her. She has made this transition and move here a LOT easier on all of us!
Dont' you just LOVE how Colby INSISTED on wearing his boots, "because that's what country kids wear when they go to a farm Mom!" LOL!!! What a hoot!
And here is one more of sweet Chloe! She was worn OUT and enjoyed taking a much needed break on this little garden bench! She was thrilled that it was "just her size!"
Of course I suppose it goes without saying that I'd prefer the zoo, where the "aroma" is less pugnant, and where you step isn't as critical. I have never fantasized about a hot shower more, and we didn't even WORK on the farm! LOL! Just the smell and the dirt alone are enough to convince me that living out of the city limits is as much of a "country girl" as I can handle!

What a neat field trip ~ I loved all the pictures!!
