The "Curse" of the Traveling Daddy.....

I honestly can't think of anything as accurate as "The Curse of the Traveling Daddy"!  In our familly it has a proven 100% "success" rate of triggering ailments, turbulent weather, crisis, and/or other emotional or physical toil on myself and the kiddos while he is away on business.  It's ALMOST ironically funny how Jarred can be gone for hours, sometimes minutes, and a child throws up, gets hurt or we're under a severe weather threat.  You get the picture.  I'm convinced that I'm a stronger woman and mother for it, but it sure would be nice to share the "fun" sometimes.  LOL!  This trip was no exception!

Yesterday started off as a beautiful lazy Monday!  Because Jarred has been gone (and was only home for a few hours) I wanted to make sure he came home to a clean house with everything neatly in its place... including ALL the laundry!  Soooo, all the hard work paid off and I've had more "free" time than I know what to do with.  The only thing on my calendar yesterday was an awards ceremony for Colby.  Unfortunately Jarred suffers from the "curse" too and consequently misses out on lots of school programs, performances, etc.

I left the house without my camera, so unfortunately these are the best my lil' phone could do.  Colby is the little guy in the red shirt (he wore his Rangers jersy to school).

I was so proud, he was chosen to lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance.
(that's him up on stage by the flag)

Receiving his award

So proud!  He got a t-shirt too!

The rest of the day morning was fairly normal.  Until lunch....We had a HORRIBLE storm come through with 65+ mph winds!!!   (the curse!!!!) I was literally glued to the window watching our pergola swaying back & forth and I actually witnessed the wind PICK UP our red oak tree and lay it back on the ground.  It was the craziest thing I've seen in a long time!

Jarred had actually attempted to stake it down late Sunday night to help prevent the tree from swaying so much. Guess Mother Nature showed him! LOL!

Thankfully a good friend came over to "save the tree"...  I think it's safe to say it wont be going anywhere anytime soon!

I'm SOOOooo glad he'll be home tomorrow!
