Chloe has been devestated for the past month --- her favorite toy, Mr. Squiggles, (a zhu zhu pet) has not been able to roll around all summer. At one point he was "lost" for several weeks so that helped the time pass, but she found him safely "sleeping" in her favorite purse this past weekend. It was time for "Doctor Dad" to step in. I of course have been capable of trying new batteries, etc. to help buy time, but in this house if you want something fixed (unless it's food), there is only one place to turn.... DADDY!!! It seems all the zhu zhu pets in our house had a bad case of "carpet-itus" (i.e. carpet and hair caught up in their wheels) so Jarred spent quite a while "operating" on various toys restoring them to health. Unfortunately, the diagnosis doesn't look too good for dear ol' Mr. Squiggles.... he needs a whole new transmission. I didn't even know something that small could HAVE a transmission! Right now Chloe is content to think that Mr. Squiggles is tired from his "surgery" and that he'll be good as new in a few days. LOL! I'm hoping Target or Wal-Mart can help me out with this one and I can pull the ol' switcheroo! But in the mean time, she has been taking excellent care of him!! It's just precious.
Well, battery toys weren't the only thing Jarred got to "operate" on last night. About a week ago I had a marathon day of errands that ended with a trip to the grocery store. The store clerk had sacked a glass jar of spaghetti sauce with some canned food and a half-gallon of milk in a plastic bag. As you can imagine, when I was carrying it into the house the bag tore and out came the spaghetti sauce. We had sauce and glass EVERYWHERE!!!! We did our best to clean it all up, but you know how glass on tile floors can be. Long story short, I managed to step on some but since it was clear I couldn't tell if it just cut my foot or if there was actually glass in my foot. That was a WEEK ago, and because it was still bothering me last night I had "Dr. Dad" take a look at it. Sure enough, after about 30 minutes of digging around, out came the glass. Aaaah! My foot feels tons better. Can you imagine???? I've been wearing heels and ran 16 miles last week! It's been such a relief. I just thought small cuts were supposed to hurt like that --- kind of like a paper cut --- just constant stinging.
So thankful I have a husband that can fix things!!! Even me!
