I was not able to go to church again this Sunday due to illness in the family -- last week it was me (Jarred took the kids), and this time it was Chloe. She managed to get pink eye sometime this weekend. At least that's my professional diagnosis, she woke up with red goopey eyes and well, what else do you need to confirm that. Luckily we still have drops from the last time one of the kids had it so all is well again. But alas, we stayed home. It was nice to not have a rushed morning since Jarred flew out to Flordia this afternoon. We went and had an early lunch and then we "toured" the town so I would have some sort of idea of where Colby's scouting activites and soccer practices this week were going to be. Although we've been in Abilene about 2 months, I've developed "tunnel vision" for my surroundings. If it's not on the way to the mall, the kid's school, Target, or the grocery store, I'm clueless as to where I'm going. Nevertheless, we still managed to have a FUN day. I was surprised at myself at my willingness to be spontaneous.... I've got a slight "planning addiction". :) Anyway, I hauled all the kids to Colby's tiger scout outing to the airport. They actually got to sit in a real airplane and "pretend" to steer. We watched several airplanes take off, and toured all kinds of hangers, maintenance rooms, etc. I have to admit I felt a slight twinge of "importance" when we were able to drive in the "restricted area". Chloe of course felt the "need" to go potty at least 3 times in the 45 minutes we were there. Due to the recent nature of her potty training (exactly 1 week ago today! Praise the LORD!!), I was not about to call her bluff, especially in the company of a group of men and their sons. All in all, it was a good outing!
